Steve Roberts demostrated rope making. Rope often started as simple bailing twine,
The first stage is to create three set of twisted pair of the twine.
Once you have the three twissted pair, they are placed in a rope maker's jig used to help in the fashioning of the rope.
The turning of the crank insures a consistant and fast combining of the twisted pair. Here you can see the two men working together.
